The Mali Djembe Curriculum

金贝鼓手”级别认证专注于20个来自马里的金贝鼓曲。学员将学习这些曲目独特的节奏型和编排技巧。<br><br><br>“西非打击乐”认证将教授学员不同乐器的演奏技巧和节奏型，包括金贝鼓，墩墩鼓，calabash, yabara和karinyan.

MALI DJEMBE
Introduction
Mali Djembe is a unique djembe certification program designed by Rusty Eklund and master djembefollas from Mali. Students can pursue three levels of certification: Student, Apprentice, and Djembefolla. A separate certification as West African Percussionist is available also for students with djembe, dununs, talking drum, calabash, yabara, and karinyan. These programs are designed to prepare musicians for the rigors of studying with African masters.
Rusty Eklund is a certified music and maths classroom teacher from the USA. He lived 11 years in west Africa studying music with village and urban master musicians and currently teaches primary music in Shanghai, China. He presents his own Mali Djembe curriculum in workshops and performances internationally.
MALI DJEMBE
Student Certification covers the basics of the djembe and dunun. All students from beginner to professional start at the beginning of the Mali Djembe program. It is a complete curriculum teaching the components of west African music, djembe performance, and djembe teaching.
Apprentice certification is the beginning of learning about the djembe ensemble, the Malian repertoire, and lead djembe.
Djembefolla certification focuses on lead phrasing and arrangements for 20 djembe ensemble rhythms from the Malian repertoire.
West African Percussion certification presents students with skills and rhythms on djembe, dununs, ntama talking drum, calabash, yabara, and karinyan and can be pursued seperate from the djembe certification program.

50 hours minimum learning time
Students should plan on 100 hours of instruction and 300-400 hours of practice time.
MALI DJEMBE Introduction Mali Djembé est un programme de certification de djembé unique conçu par Rusty Eklund et le maître djembefollas du Mali. Les étudiants peuvent suivre trois niveaux de certification : Étudiant, Apprenti et Djembefolla. Une certification distincte en tant que percussionniste d'Afrique de l'Ouest est également disponible pour les étudiants avec le djembé, les dununs, le tambour parlant, la calebasse, le yabara et le karinyan. Ces programmes sont conçus pour préparer les musiciens aux rigueurs de l'étude avec des maîtres africains. Rusty Eklund est un professeur certifié de musique et de mathématiques originaire des États-Unis.
